Teenager‘s victory over cancer

From despair to hope. The journey of 21-year-old Manisha is a lesson about how timely guidance on health issues can help overcome the most serious of conditions. What started as a minor pain in her leg in 2020 led to the detection of bone cancer. Emotional upheaval, depression, and uncertainty about the future followed, turning her world upside down.

But the girl from Muzaffarpur in Bihar showed exceptional grit and with some guidance and assistance from DigiSwasthya’s Team fought the adversity courageously. The DigiSwasthya team put her on to experts through online and physical consultations. Manisha’ determination is truly inspiring. Managing 8 chemotherapy sessions over 12 months while still focusing on her education and successfully graduating.

At one point, Manisha was told by a medical professional that she may lose a leg due to bone cancer. However, it was due to repeated consultations arranged by DigiSwasthya with experts so she went to Mumbai for further medical treatment.

Manisha’s final surgery took place at Navi Mumbai – MPCT and the family ended up spending Rs 4.5 lakh which had to be arranged by her mother and Ratan Tata Trust.

Now, she is part of the DigiSwasthya Mission and assists team members to spread awareness and conduct health checkups not only in Bihar but across Punjab and Uttar Pradesh by handling big health projects.
